This workshop will introduce state-of-the-art
computational methods for visualizing specimens in three dimensions. This will
include X-ray micro-tomography and synchrotron radiation X-ray tomographic
microscopy, digital visualization, and 3-D printing. The suitability of these techniques
for studying echinoderms in particular will be discussed, and there will be a
hands-on demonstration of freely available software (ImageJ and SPIERS) that
can be used to visualize your own data, with example datasets provided by the
instructors.
